On April 23, 2012, AFSCME, Local 569 (Juneau County), filed a motion in Juneau County Circuit Court requesting that the Court confirm an Arbitration Award that directed the County to reinstate one of its members. In that Award, the Arbitrator found that the County had fired Local 569’s member without just cause (see previous post here). On November 21, 2012, the Court denied the County’s motion to vacate the Award, finding that the Arbitrator had acted within his authority in reinstating Local 569’s member. See Memorandum Decision here. Attorneys Aaron Halstead and Colin Good represented the Union.
