The Wisconsin Court of Appeals has held that Milwaukee’s paid sick leave ordinance does not violate Wisconsin’s Constitution or Statutes. The ordinance, which was passed by 69% of Milwaukee voters in the 2008 election, provided that employers within the city of Milwaukee must provide paid sick leave to their employees. A lower court had initially issued an injunction, preventing the implementation of the ordinance. The decision from the Court of Appeals reversed that ruling and reinstated ordinance. The full Court of Appeals decision may be found here.
