Attorney Katherine Charlton is a co-author of the article “Contract Negotiations for Senior Trainees,” to be published in an upcoming edition of the Journal of Graduate Medical Education, a publication of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. The article provides medical doctors who are completing residencies with strategies for contract negotiations with future employers. Charlton’s co-authors are Jeffrey Berger, the chair of the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at George Washington University School of Medicine (GWUSM), Geoffrey Ho, a research fellow working with Dr. Berger, and Marian Sherman, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at GWUSM. Charlton frequently negotiates the terms of employment and non-competition agreements for residents and physicians.
