John Leppanen joined Hawks Quindel as an associate attorney at Hawks Quindel’s Milwaukee Office in 2019 after five years at the Law Office of Arthur Heitzer.
Attorney Leppanen focuses primarily on representing employees in the employment context, including in discrimination and harassment claims, severance negotiations, wrongful terminations, and unemployment insurance proceedings. In addition to his efforts on behalf of working people, Attorney Leppanen represents individuals in family law matters such as divorces, child custody and placement disputes, and domestic violence restraining orders.
As a native of Milwaukee’s west side and a graduate of Rufus King High School, Attorney Leppanen is proud to represent employees in the city that has always been home and to fight for the diverse array of people that define Milwaukee.
Outside of work, Attorney Leppanen is an avid bicyclist and sports fan who tries not to let the stack of un-read New Yorkers get too big.
Attorney Leppanen has represented employees in both Wisconsin and Federal courts on a wide range of employment-related issues, such as disability discrimination, sexual harassment, race discrimination, age discrimination, and retaliation. He has also represented individuals in family law matters in Wisconsin Circuit Court. He is licensed to practice in Wisconsin, Oregon, and the Eastern District of Wisconsin Federal Court.
Attorney Leppanen graduated from Boston University School of Law in 2012 and from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2008 with a B.A. in Italian, a J.B.A. in Journalism, and comprehensive honors.
