Amy Shapiro was a presenter at the seminar titled Utilization of Mental Health, Counseling, and Medical Records in Family Law Cases: A View from the Bench, the Bar and Healthcare Professionals on February 5, 2015 in Milwaukee. The program, sponsored by the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, the Leander J. Foley, Jr., Matrimonial American Inns of Court and the Society of Family Lawyers met to discuss confidentiality of mental health records, when they are protected and the effects of disclosure of the records. Shapiro participated in a mock hearing on the issue of whether a parent’s mental health records can and should be disclosed to the court, the child’s attorney or the other parent.
Shapiro is Vice President of the Foley Inns of Court whose purpose is to improve the skills, professionalism and ethics of the bench and bar of family law in Wisconsin.
