“When the rights of any individual or group are chipped away, the freedom of all erodes.” - Justice Earl Warren

Attorney Martha Burke joined Hawks Quindel in 2022 after completing her JD at The University of Wisconsin - Madison Law School. Attorney Burke is a proud double-badger, having completed both her undergraduate and law studies at UW-Madison.

During law school Attorney Burke was a tireless advocate for employee rights while working as a clinical law student in the Neighborhood Law Clinic and for migrant laborers with Legal Action of Wisconsin’s Farmworker Project. Attorney Burke earned the Leon Feingold Memorial Award from the law school in recognition of her work to provide more than 100 hours of pro bono court interpreting services during school.

Prior to law school, Attorney Burke began her career as an advocate for victims in Wisconsin as a victim rights advocate at Domestic Abuse Intervention Services (DAIS) in Madison, WI. While at DAIS she supported victims by accompanying them through complicated court proceedings, facilitating weekly support groups and staffing the crisis line. She later worked as a legal associate supervisor at the Wisconsin Department of Justice in Civil Litigation.

Attorney Burke is a bilingual attorney, speaking both English and Spanish to support Milwaukeeans in the areas of employment discrimination, worker’s compensation, and wage and hour law. Attorney Burke also speaks French and elementary Arabic.

When not practicing law, Attorney Burke enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and dog, usually with a coffee in hand. A St Louis native, Attorney Burke also enjoys reminding the HQ office that she is decidedly not a Brewers fan.
