Attorney Brook Tylka

Attorney Tylka is an associate attorney at Hawks Quindel’s Madison office practicing in the areas of long term disability benefits and worker’s compensation law. Attorney Tylka is passionate and diligent about every case she works on and she brings a detail-oriented eye to the unique facts that each client’s situation presents.

When she’s not working, Attorney Tylka enjoys reading books of all kinds, baking, and going on nature walks around Madison.

Attorney Tylka represents injured Wisconsin workers from all walks of life. She is passionate about helping injured workers obtain all of the benefits they’re entitled to so they can focus on their recovery while knowing that the legal process is being taken care of.

Attorney Tylka assists employees seeking approval for short or long-term disability benefits. She helps clients through every step of the disability benefits process including applying for benefits, appealing denials, and litigating against insurance companies.

Experience

Before she attended law school, Attorney Tylka worked at Hawks Quindel as a legal assistant, giving her early experience in the field of worker’s compensation. In 2018, she temporarily left Wisconsin to begin law school at Boston University School of Law. Starting in the summer of 2020, Attorney Tylka returned to Hawks Quindel as a law clerk where she assisted with numerous cases in the fields of worker’s compensation, employment discrimination, disability insurance benefits, and other areas of practice. She was admitted as an attorney in September 2021. Since then, she has secured positive outcomes for her clients in numerous worker’s compensation and disability cases.

Attorney Tylka has a passion for oral advocacy and honed her skills through active involvement in BU’s Moot Court program, participating in the Edward C. Stone Moot Court Competition, Homer Albers Prize Moot Court Competition, and Seigenthaler-Sutherland Cup National First Amendment Competition across her second and third years of law school. In October 2022, she successfully argued in front the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
