Attorney Forrest Stewart

Attorney Stewart is an associate attorney at Hawks Quindel’s Madison office. He went to law school and became an attorney specifically to pursue his life-long commitment to the rights and wellbeing of workers. He offers representation in matters involving employment law, employee benefits, and labor law.

Outside of his practice, Attorney Stewart enjoys hiking, biking, camping, cooking, playing bluegrass mandolin, and spending time with his family in the Northwoods.

Madison Employment Attorney

No worker should be treated worse just because of who they are. Attorney Stewart advocates for workers who have faced discrimination based on their race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or other protected status.

Madison Benefits Attorney

Employer-provided benefits, like disability insurance and pensions, are crucial forms of compensation because they provide support to workers who become unable to work. Too often, however, insurance companies prioritize their bottom line over the lives of those they insure. To remedy this injustice, Attorney Stewart represents clients who are applying for benefits, appealing claim denials, and litigating disputes with insurance companies in both state and federal court.

Madison Labor Attorney

Labor unions are responsible for nearly all the workplace protections and benefits we enjoy today. Their central role in the collective struggle for a fair and equitable economy is crucial to the advancement of workers’ interests everywhere. Attorney Stewart is proud to represent unions in disputes with their employers, including collective bargaining, prohibited/unfair labor practice complaints, and grievance proceedings.

Experience

During law school, Attorney Stewart worked with the Neighborhood Law Clinic, representing clients in employment and housing matters, including discrimination claims and security deposit disputes. He was also Co-President of UW’s National Lawyers Guild Chapter and a recipient of the Michael Weiner Scholarship for Labor Studies, a program supporting the efforts of law students dedicated to improving the lives of workers.

Attorney Stewart joined Hawks Quindel as a clerk during his second year of law school. In that role, he focused on labor, employment, and benefits cases. As an attorney, he continues to specialize in those areas, driven by his steadfast dedication to helping workers and unions secure the rights, compensation, and justice they deserve.
