Madison Disability & Workers’ Compensation Attorney
"Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and it never will." - Frederick Douglass
Attorney Baird is an associate attorney at Hawks Quindel’s Madison office, where he practices short- and long term disability benefits, worker’s compensation, employee benefits, and family law. Attorney Baird has dedicated his career to advocating for workers and people with disabilities. To that end, he offers diligent and compassionate legal representation to help his clients reach their goals. Outside of work, Attorney Baird enjoys playing board games, reading, and spending time with his husband and dog.
Experience
During law school, Attorney Baird worked with the Eviction Defense Clinic, where he defended the rights of low-income renters; the Unemployment Appeals Clinic, representing claimants in administrative appeals hearings; and with the State Democracy Research Initiative. He was also Co-President of UW’s “QLaw” and Students for Accessibility, Disability, and Accommodations Chapters. Attorney Baird served as a Senior Managing Articles Editor for the Wisconsin Journal of Law, Gender & Society. In a forthcoming Journal article, “Upending the Interest-Free Loan,” Attorney Baird argues that Wisconsin prosecutors can and should prosecute wage theft under existing Wisconsin law.
