Attorneys Katherine Charlton and Michele Sumara successfully represented one of the former partners in a same-sex couple who had parented two children. They are now engaged in a dispute over the validity of the Orders for Adoption issued in 2004. The District IV Court of Appeals recently upheld a La Crosse County Circuit Court decision, rejecting the biological mother’s efforts to overturn the Orders for Adoption. Other matters involving the case are pending in Walworth County.
