On April 23, 2012, employees of AFSCME, Local 569 (Juneau County), filed a motion in Juneau County Circuit Court, requesting that the Court confirm an Arbitration Award issued against the County. In a March 1, 2012 Award, Arbitrator John C. Carlson, Jr., ordered the County to reinstate a bargaining unit employee the County had discharged from employment in 2010. The County has now refused to abide by the Arbitrator’s Award. The Union’s motion seeks a judicial order directing the County to comply with the Award. The Union has also filed a prohibited practices charge against the County with the Wisconsin Employment Relations Commission, alleging that the County has refused to abide by the terms of that Award. Attorney Aaron Halstead and Colin Good represent the Union.
