A class action lawsuit filed in federal court in Milwaukee, Wisconsin alleges that Aurora Health Care, Inc., a company with health care facilities throughout Southeastern Wisconsin, illegally failed to pay security officers for on-duty meal periods. According to the complaint, security officers at Aurora facilities are required to be on call and able to respond even during their unpaid, half hour meal periods. The suit seeks overtime and minimum wage pay in addition to penalties and attorneys’ fees for all employees who were denied pay for on duty meal periods at any time during the past three years.

The case is entitled Brabazon v. Aurora Health Care, Inc. and was filed in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin. Plaintiffs are represented by William Parsons, David Zoeller, and Summer Murshid from Hawks Quindel.
