Attorney Marisol González Castillo

Overview

Attorney Marisol González Castillo joined Hawks Quindel’s Madison office as an associate attorney in 2020, representing individuals in personal injury and workers compensation matters. A native of Mexico City, Mexico, Attorney González Castillo understands the importance of communicating with clients in their own language, and proudly represents clients in both Spanish and English.

As a personal injury and workers compensation attorney, Attorney González Castillo recognizes the stress that can come with injuries, whether suffered at work or elsewhere. The importance and comfort of having a dedicated, detailed, and communicative representative cannot be overestimated. Attorney González Castillo strives to obtain the best compensation possible for her clients, while ensuring they understand and are comfortable with every step of the case.

Before joining Hawks Quindel, Attorney González Castillo practiced law with the Legal Aid society of Milwaukee, where she provided free legal representation to low-income individuals.

Outside of work, Attorney González Castillo enjoys biking, baking, and spending time with her partner and dog.

Experience

Before joining Hawks Quindel, Attorney González Castillo successfully represented clients in the areas of landlord/tenant, consumer, and unemployment compensation.  She has further led presentations on various topics, including housing evictions, and attorney’s ethical responsibilities.

She has been an active member of the State Bar, volunteering with the Board of Governors, and the Leadership Development Committee. Attorney González Castillo is also a member of the Wisconsin Hispanic Lawyers Association, the Association for Women Lawyers, and New Leaders Council.

During law school, Attorney González Castillo interned with the Wisconsin Innocence Project, and the Chicago Legal clinic. Her last year of law school, she was the Editor-in-Chief of the Wisconsin Journal of Law, Gender & Society.

Recognition & Leadership

Attorney González Castillo is a leader in the law field. She published the article, Solutions: Overcoming Language Barriers in Representation in the Wisconsin Lawyer, the journal of the State Bar of Wisconsin, offering advice and best practices for Wisconsin attorneys working with non-native English speakers and non-English speakers. The State Bar’s Diversity and Inclusion Oversight Committee awarded her the 2022 Diversity and Inclusion Trailblazing Award for her efforts to help first-generation law students become attorneys.
